Your privacy choices

Last updated: May 6, 2026

This page covers your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA), the GDPR, and similar privacy laws. The short version is cafein does not sell or share your personal information, and we collect very little to begin with. See our full Privacy Policy for the details.

Right to know

You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it. cafein collects:

  • Anonymous device-level usage events (PostHog).
  • Anonymous crash reports (Sentry).
  • Anonymous subscription status (RevenueCat).
  • Your email address, only if you contact [email protected].

Your caffeine logs are stored on your device and (optionally) in Apple Health. cafein does not receive a copy of them.

Right to delete

You can delete your data at any time:

  • Caffeine logs: uninstall cafein from your iPhone, or delete entries individually in the History screen.
  • Apple Health entries: open Apple Health → Browse → Nutrition → Caffeine, then remove the entries.
  • Email correspondence and any anonymous analytics tied to your device: email [email protected] from the address you used to contact us, asking for deletion. We will confirm and delete within 30 days.

Right to opt out of sale or sharing

cafein does not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is nothing to opt out of, but if that ever changes we will update this page and provide a clear opt-out link.

Right to correct

The personal data cafein holds about you is minimal and largely anonymous. If you believe any information we hold about you (for example in a support email thread) is inaccurate, email [email protected] and we will correct it.

Right to portability

You can export your caffeine logs as a CSV file at any time using the "Export CSV" feature in cafein Pro, or via Apple Health if you have sync enabled.

Non-discrimination

We will never charge you a different price, deny service, or otherwise penalise you for exercising any of these rights.

Authorised agents

You may designate an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf. Email [email protected] with a written and signed authorisation. We will verify the request before acting.

How to make a request

The fastest way is to email [email protected]with the subject line "Privacy request" and tell us:

  1. What right you are exercising (know, delete, correct, portability, opt-out).
  2. The email address you have used with cafein, or your device-level ID if known.
  3. Where you are located (so we know which laws apply).

We respond within 30 days, often the same day.
